A dental implant is composed of these three parts:
- A titanium post that will serve as the “root” for a replacement tooth
- An abutment, which is the connecting piece between the implant and the replacement tooth
- A replacement tooth, referred to as the “crown”

Bonding of the implant to the bone takes a few months. When this is complete, Dr. Lipson then creates the replacement tooth.
